John Smith, born and raised in Annandale, is one of those rare locals some of you may heard of. After graduating from Annandale High School, John moved across country and lived for two years in the Bay area. While in California he attended The National Holistic Institute, which lunched his now twenty-year career as a Certified Massage Therapist. For four years straight, 09'-12' John was named Allure Magazine's Top Massage Therapist in the DC area. Still practicing massage today, John currently teaches massage at American Massage and Bodywork Institute and provides in-home therapy.
Never being shy of performing or speaking in front of crowds, John's friend, and best man Ian, knew he would be the right person to get ordained to officiate his wedding. John and Ian, were the first of their group of friends to get married and as we all know once that ball starts rolling it picks up steam, quickly! There were not too many weddings, in the next eleven years, John attended that he also had the honor of officiating.
After planning their own wedding and being so involved in help the Maynard's wedding John's wife Amanda decided to follow her newly discovered passion and started her own wedding design and coordination company White Pumpkin. Named after the center pieces she had designed for their wedding. Talk about a family business!
John never imagined that he would be involved in people’s lives in such unique, special and different ways. “I love everything that I get to do in life. Guiding a couple through a ceremony where they express their love and commitment to each other, occasionally assisting my wife with her weddings helping execute the day of and provide a flawless experience for the couple and guests, and getting to touch people’s lives, literally and figuratively, helping reduce pain and stress or just giving some a little peace in this fast-paced life. I feel truly honored and blessed in what I get to call work.”
John would love to officiate your wedding and will work with you to create a ceremony tailored to the individual couple.
If you had hopes of having someone significant in your life preform the ceremony he can meet, legally marry you the day of and provide consulting to your loved one performing the ceremony.
